The Encourager
Worthy
I can be a very impatient person. I hate standing in lines at stores, or places like Six Flags. Part of that comes from being in the military where all you do is “hurry up and wait.”
God has been working on me as I get older, but I seem to be getting worse. I guess as we get older, we see time slipping away, and we want to get more accomplished before we go.
Sometimes it is very hard to wait on God, but when we do, God can use us for His glory to complete the work He has for us. As I look back over the last twenty years of prison ministry, when I was patient, God came through and gave me my heart’s desire. He used me because His hand was on what I was doing, and I was in His will.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, seek God, find where He truly wants you to serve, and He will give you a heart for what He’s calling you to do. If He wants you to get some special training, He will provide it. Then you can sit back and wait on Him. He will use you, and if you are waiting too long, He will prod you and get you moving.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God..
